Time travel to the past or future

Hello everyone!

If I were made to choose between traveling to the past or to the future, I would choose the first option.

I don't like to imagine what planet earth will be like ina few more years because pollution and technology will end up destroying it and I don't want to witness that.

I'd like to travel back in time. If I had a time machine I would like to travel to the independence process of Chile to meet important historical figures of the time such as Manuel Rodriguez or Jose Miguel Carrera. I really like history and traveling to that stage in the history of our country would amuse me a lot.

I would also like to travel to my childhood and adolescence and try to solve problems that marked me so that I could be a better person and try to solve mistakes that I made as well.

 

Also, I would take advantage of spending a full day with my grandfather. I would hear his anecdotes again in his room and we would talk about the books he gave me. Then I would hug him and tell him how much I love him.

I wouldn't want to stay in the past forever. I just want to live adventures and contribute to make my life and that of my loved ones better. Then I would come back to present and could enjoy even more the modifications and arrangements I made.

Talking about this topic reminds me a lot of the movie Back to the Future and I feel that we have all wanted to travel back in time to fulfill some purpose or to live an adventure.

A photograph that I like

Hello classmates and teacher! 

This is one of my favorite pictures I have ever taken. He is my grandfather Sergio who passed away in April this year. 

The photo was taken in his house and I used it for a paper for a university course called "Fotoperiodismo" in 2021. We had to take portraits of different people and I decided to make him one of my models. My grandfather loved the idea and let me take more than one picture of him that day. 

I don't remember the date or the exact time, but I remember that it was very cold that day because my grandfather was wearing a sweater.

I really like this photo because it shows the true essence and personality of my grandfather. He suffered a lot throughout his life, but he never turned off his smile. He was in poor health that year, but he still came out to his yard and helped me do my job. When I think of him, I also think of this photo and how happy he was that day.

I remember afterwards telling him about my grade and he was very happy to know that I had done well.

 

My family also liked this picture. After he died we decided to print and frame this photo to put in the living room. 

My Bucket List

Hello classmates and teacher!

In English class they made me write a Bucket List when I was in high school about six years ago. I don't remember what I wrote, but since that time I have always had in my mind the things I want to do before I die.

 

With the death of my grandfather in April of this year, I realized that life is very short and can change drastically in a second.

I would like to travel.

I would like to see the places where my favorite movies were filmed and I would also like to go to Disney World with my sister because she has always wanted to go there and I would like to fulfill her dream. I would also like to travel to Japan because I have always loved Japanese culture. I would love to be able to be in that country for as much time as possible. Also, I would like to give my mom and her husband the trip they have always dreamed of.

During the last summer vacation I have seen most of northern and southern Chile, but I would love to see much more. I hope to see as many places and cities as possible.

Another thing I would add to my Bucket List is to have my own house or apartment. I would like to live with my boyfriend, since we have talked about this topic and we have a life plan and we want to realize many projects together.

I would like to share most of these projects and desires with my family.

None of the desires that I have so far are difficult to achieve, but I have to study and work hard to be able to achieve them.

TV shows and series

My favorite series are Anne with an E, Naruto and Shingeki no Kyojin.

I like a lot of Japanese anime series especially the action ones or better known as "shonen". Naruto I watched during the year 2020 in quarantine, it has more than 400 chapters and consists of two parts: Naruto and Naruto Shippuden. The series is about an orphan ninja boy named Naruto Uzumaki who seeks to be recognized as someone important within his village and among his peers. 

My favorite character is Itachi Uchiha. 

Shingeki no Kyojin is also a Japanese animated series. The plot is apocalyptic and tells the story of Eren Jaeger, a boy who lives in a world enclosed by walls to protect himself from monsters called titans. The series has 87 episodes and I've been watching it since its premiere in 2013. 

My favorite character is Annie Leonhart.

My last favorite series is Anne with an E. It is a Canadian series based on the book "Anne of Green Gables" and tackles issues such as child neglect, gender inequality, racism, religion and freedom of expression. It tells the story of Anne, a 13-year-old girl who arrives in Green Gables to live with the siblings Matthew and Marilla. It has 3 seasons and 27 episodes in total. 

My favorite character is Gilbert Blythe.

The series I am watching now is Breaking Bad. I have wanted to watch it for a long time because it is considered one of the best series of all time according to Rolling Stone.

My favorite series used to be The Walking Dead, but I stopped liking it because of the direction the series took in its plot. 

Academic changes in 2022

I study journalism at the Faculty of Communication and Image. I'm in the third year of my career. 

I really like my career because it focuses on communication, research and creation, but according to the training plan I don't like the system of transferable credits (STC).

According to the curriculum we have to have 16 credits in basic training electives until the fourth year of our career. The basic training electives are theoretical or practical courses that seek to contribute to your academic training as a future social communicator. 

It is very difficult to take basic training electives because many students try to apply and there are no places available. I also don't like the number of credits that each course has, they are very few and sometimes during the semester you have to take more than one to complete them. I would like to see more credits for basic training electives in the future. 

I also don't like the application system to choose your courses, many times the platform (U-Campus) to do this process presents failures and you can't take your courses or you are left without them.

Last semester I entered U-Campus and applied to all the subjects, but the system left me without one. I had to send an email to the secretariat of studies to get my problem solved. 

Another thing that should be improved is the faculty infrastructure. Many classrooms have holes in the ceiling due to humidity and have not been repaired. Also when it rains on the stairs of the "hoyo" a giant puddle is formed.

I would like these problems to be solved in the future so that future generations have a better space to study.

The best concert ever

Hello everyone!

The best concert I went to was Mon Laferte's. The concert was in December 2018 at the Movistar Arena in the city of Santiago.

Mon Laferte is a Chilean and Mexican artist who has experimented with different musical genres among them: rock, bolero, waltz and cumbia. She became famous in the program "Rojo: fama contrafama" broadcasted by Televisión de Chile (TVN). Her most famous songs are "Tormento", "Tu falta de Querer" and "Amor Completo".

Mon Laferte is my favorite artist since 2017.

The atmosphere of the concert was very entertaining, I was in the "cancha VIP" sector and I was able to see Mon Laferte up close. I remember she jumped into the audience and everyone was very excited.

I was very excited at the concert because I wanted to hear my favorite song live: "Flaco". When Mon Laferte sang it I couldn't stop crying with happiness.

Unfortunately when I changed my cell phone many photos and videos of the concert were lost and I couldn't recover them.

A country I would like to visit

Hello classmates and Miss!

I would like to travel to Italy because it is a very beautiful country. When I saw the movie "Call me by your name" I really liked the landscapes of this country and its infrastructure. I have seen many videos and tiktoks of people who have visited these tourist places and I would like to go and see them all.  

Italy is one of my favorite countries in Europe, it is located in the center of the Mediterranean Sea, it is the country with the most world heritage sites and its official food is pasta! 

When I travel to Italy I would like to tour the most important tourist places like the Historical Center of Rome, Venice, the tower of Pisa, Milan "the city of fashion", Verona and eat lots of pasta and pizza! 

I would also like to take the official tour of the movie to visit its sets.

I want to go to Italy because I love to travel. In the future I hope to go to Italy, to other places in Europe and the world.
